How to Make DragonScale ChainMail Part 5: The repeating pattern

Ok, now that you have your chainmail going you just have to repeat the pattern. This page is perfect for that. I show you the repeating pattern. So you can follow down the page then move back up to the top of the page and continue weaving.

Two rows of small rings then two rows of large rings! That's the pattern.

Part 1 of this tutorial is here

Two Rows of Small Rings

Ok, lets get the next row going. Open a small ring and weave it across two large rings like this:

And do it again with another small ring here:

And finish off each side with a small ring. But those are the edges so each small ring only goes into one large ring.

You are doing great. Hang in there! That row of small rings is done. Now let's start the next row of small rings. Open a small ring and weave it across two large rings like this.

And do that again, open a small ring and place it across two large rings here.

And you probably guessed it, open another small ring and place it across two large rings like this.

Now Two Rows of Large Rings

Open a large ring, weave it across the two small rings on the left the close it up.

Move across and place the next large ring, weaving it into two small rings. One of those small rings is linked by the very last ring you had placed.

Ok, finish off that row of large rings by opening a large ring and capturing two small rings, One of which you had just captured with the previous large ring.

Next we do another row of large Rings. Open a large ring and weave it through two small rings like this. Notice how it sits on top of the small ring marked with the red arrow.

And do it again with another large ring. Connecting two small rings, one of which is connected to the previous large ring. And resting on top of the small ring shown with the red line.

Ok, lets finish off this sequence of large rings by completing the row. Add a large ring to the left and right. They each go into a small ring you had just linked. But because they are on the end you only weave them into one small ring each.

The pattern is complete, hop up to the top of the page and continue adding rows.

Wow! I knew you could do it!

Karambit fighting knifeMake a Karambit Fighting Knife- We use the stock removal method to make this vicious fighting knife. I also have the template for you.

Throwing knifeMake a throwing knife - This is a fun project to make and a fun project to use! I had a lot of fun with this. All you need is a piece of steel and some basic tools. And you don't need a forge. You can harden and temper this with a torch. Make a Throwing Knife

Planishing stakeMake a planishing stake - In this case I call it a planishing ball. It is for shaping metal into curves and it is a standard tool for armor makers. Pretty easy to make this and I use a cast Iron Shotput. Make a Planishing Stake.
