John's D-Day Diorama

Here is a D-day diorama made by John. Below he tells us a bit about how he made it and what materials and models were used.

John has more dioramas and some great tutorials on my website. Check them out right here

He has a business called Hobbies in a Barn and you can check out the facebook page to see more pics and get more info: Hobbies in a Barn on Facebook

John Tells us about this diorama:

The DUKW is by Italeri and the Tamiya Amphibious Jeep round out the vehicles. The figures are both the DML 29th Infantry Division along with the latest figure set by MasterBox with some extra detailing added.

As always I used all acrylic based scenery material and real sand sifted through a flour sifter. The "Atlantic Wall" was created with Styrofoam packing and spray painted.

Finally the Tamiya  20mm quad FLAK gun was added to the scene as many of these were used against the troops on the beaches!
