I spent some time in India last month and a whole lot of things struck me. One of which is the blending of the castles and architectural structures. What do I mean by this? Well, time and people are a fluid thing. They meld, mold and change over time. It is an interesting thing. And we live in a snapshot of time. So it is difficult to really get a look at this changing. But, big stone castles and structures are a clue about this and can tell us a lot about this changing.
And in India it is very evident in the castles. Let’s take a look at the Red Fort in Delhi.
The outside is very european in flavor and feel. The walls, the towers etc. The overall cut of it minus the arched doorway of course.
Let’s move a little deeper into the actual structure and we see the Indian influence begin to take over.
And the deeper we get the more Indian in flavor, color and shape it becomes.
So, that is my thought on the malleability of time and how things change. Things are not locked in to one way, they change, are influenced by each other and change over time. And we are still in the middle of this beautiful river of it.
Want to see more of India? I have more stuff about the castles on my website here:
The Castles of India
Just got back from a vacation in India and it was quite amazing. I had a really good time. India was a bit of a peculiar trip for me though. It had been calling me for a while. Here is the thing, if I could get personal about it.
I don’t travel for the usual reasons. Places call me. Simple as that. I was called to Greece, was called to Ireland, was called to Egypt and more. India called me for a reason too…
I am at a place where I am looking for someone to share life with. A good woman. Somebody unique and special. It has been on my mind for quite a while. I love that, sharing life with a woman. But due to a range of peculiar circumstances it hasn’t been my privilege for the past few years. But I have been feeling a deep Saudade and it is time now for me to find someone, or for someone to find me. I feel that.
Well, back to the reason of India. It is all about the Taj Mahal. It was built by the Shah of India as a mausoleum for his wife who died from complications of child birth. While nothing can assuage the pain of such a loss the Taj is still something special to behold.
So, when contemplating the search for love and the woman to share life with where else should a man go but the Taj? And I went…..
I went to contemplate…..
I went for inspiration…..
And I found some small fragments of inspiration in the shadow of the beauty that is the Taj Mahal.
I will not go into any details though. Where my life line extends and crosses with yours is not at this place.
