The word \u201cSacred\u201d is a beautiful word with a lot of depth and meaning. It speaks to so many things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When something is sacred it is held as very precious and it is cared for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is clearly exhibited in the churches and cathedrals that were built in centuries past. A profound amount of care went into the construction of these buildings. They were, after all, more than just buildings. It was known that they would become sacred places.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And another aspect of this is that the work these people were doing was also sacred. And they knew this. They put heartfelt work into their daily work. Their goal was to contribute the best that they could to the overall project. And for many of these cathedrals and churches the people that started on the construction, the art, the sculpture, the woodwork, the mosaics, and everything else, knew that they would never live to see it\u2019s completion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We seem to have lost this sense of the sacred. We don\u2019t build like that anymore. This loss is in two different aspects. We have \u201cbudgeted\u201d away the construction of beautiful buildings -opting to make them more functional. And we have lost that inter-generational sense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You are more than just a person living in this time. You are part of a chain of people going all the way back to the very beginning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You are more than just a person paying the bills, making the appointment, buying the things, watching the movies, and doing the things. You are living in a beautiful world, living a beautiful life. And it is all very sacred. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
