Hurricanes, earthquakes, and tornadoes are things that shake up the Earth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And while they can be devastating they are also necessary. They cause a churn; a part of a process of tear down and re-build. The system needs this cycle; otherwise stagnation sets in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is the same for everything. If there was no moon to push and pull the ocean a stagnation would quickly set in. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clouds roam the Earth and was everything. Rivers pulse, washing the banks, moving silt. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The thin layer of air circulates everything. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The norm for these forces is to oscillate everything. This encourages and strengthens life. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But….<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This isn’t enough. If this gentle rhythm is all there was that would cause a stagnation too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The system needs big interruptions: Hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes and volcanoes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And so it is the same for humanity<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earthquakes of a different kind rip through our enclaves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tornadoes of a different kind twist and uproot our structures of humanity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hurricanes pass over us and radically change the landscape of humanity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These things cause pain. But it is necessary. Otherwise there would be stagnation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You are part of a continuum. It is a difficult thing to grasp. You are a ripple, you occupy a period of time joined by others. And even though you feel distinct and separate you are an important part of a whole that stretches across the Earth in distance and that stretches across time. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
