Carl Sagan had a beautiful quote that I still remember decades after he said it. \u201cThe cosmos is within us. We are made of star-stuff. We are a way for the universe to know itself.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While this is a beautiful thing to say and even profound I think it’s a little bit off the mark – Well, just one word off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I would replace “know” with “experience”. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are another way for the universe to “experience” itself. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For me, “understanding is a step toward using and manipulating. Whereas “experiencing” has a very different connotation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And this is where we should bel In the experiencing, not the understanding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because when attempting to understand we are facing an infinity – There is no end to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The more you turn that corkscrew the deeper it goes, the more granular things get. And you realize that the more you see the less you know. It’s infinite. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don’t try to understand this beautiful mystery. Experience it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is what it is meant for. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
