At this point in time (the now) we are using tools to help our writing. But, there will come a shift and everything will change – It will become the thing that the program will be using us for it’s writing.
When you have ten thousand schools ranging from elementary schools to colleges you get a wonderful variation of teaching. There is a lot of beautiful differences and the language of writing grows in an ergonomic way. And it’s even a mish mask. A sometimes beautiful mess. And that’s human and that’s good.
But, as more people look to the programs to correct and fix their writing it will create a homogenous – ness that we don’t want. The program, AI, or whatever you want to call it will determine how all of us “should” and “will” write.
I talked about a similar concept in a previous blog post. It is all about how distributed systems are always better than centralized systems. Centralized systems are effective and work pretty well for a period of time. Eventually they get too big and it all falls apart.
