A bit of history
The Higgins Armory museum was founded by a prominent industrialist (John Woodman Higgins) in the 1920's. He was the owner of The Worcester Pressed Steel Company, He was, of course, very interested in steel and metals. And his passion extended into the world of medieval steels and metals. He collected many items from the medieval period and particularly various types of weapons and armor.
