Review: Harvest Gold Mead

I have a friend who lives in the UK (Paul) and he was kind enough to write a review for this mead.

My thanks go to him for this contribution and if you would like to review a mead for my website please feel free to email me:

This amber liquid made from honey was acquired from one of our local supermarkets (Morrisons).

Oddly, it appears that we could not find any others stocking a similar mead.
Sources suggest either by travelling long distance to the home of Meads in Northumbria – notably the Lindisfarne or Holy Island where it had been brewed by monks.

Or one could visit an English Heritage Castle where they have a few meads for the connoisseur in the information and visitor centre onsite.

This mead does not betray any secret ingredients as none appears on the label.

Suffice to say in comparison to the more spicy and richly varied taste of those mentioned previously, this mead is strong yet slightly sweet, once imbibed it releases a warming wave over all. It leaves the mouth with a dry, sweet taste that lingers. Result is a really nice mead and very reasonably priced.
