I have been on a big cheese kick lately and really enjoying the experience of different cheeses. And, I just recently completed a short adventure to the beautiful city of Santa fe New Mexico. I went there to see the miraculous stairway in the Loretto Chapel. But much to my surprise, during my wandering around the city, I discovered a place called "Santa fe's one and only cheese shop". It was a moment of serendipity and a great experience.

I had a great conversation with the owner of the shop. He is quite a cheese expert so I asked him to recommend a cheese for me. My only caveat was that I was looking for some kind of a goat's milk cheese. It is something I have not tried yet. So, he sliced me off a generous piece of Blakesville Sunny Ridge Goat cheese. And with a bit of conversation I talked about how people often pair up cheese with various other foods. So he recommended I eat it with a good bread and some pepperoni, maybe even an apple or an orange. But he had the pepperoni and some terrific sourdough bread right there. Here is the wedge of cheese. I sat at the little table in my motel room and enjoy the cheese, bread, and pepperoni.
My Review of this cheese: It is a wonderful cheese that has a wonderful complexity and it started one way with nice flavor and it ended with a malty flavor. I was kind of amazed how this cheese changed in flavor and tone as I enjoyed it. And I am grateful to the shop owner (who is quite a cheese expert) for his recommendation for enjoying this cheese along with pepperoni and sourdough bread.
