Ann Arbor is not far from Detroit Michigan. And my orginal intent was to visit the city only to see something called The Red Gymnasium. It's on my list of castles in America.

But I was definitely taken aback by how beautiful the city of Ann Arbor is. It is a college city so that has a big effect. It is well manicured and groomed. And it is well taken care of.

I walked around downtown for a bit and enjoyed it. A river passes almost through the center of the city (The Huron River) and there is a very beautiful pond in the northern part (Barton Pond). And all of this means there are lots of nature areas and waterside parks.
