There is this wonderful stretch of land in the northern part of Arizona that has a whole lot of things you can see. This includes The Petrified Forest, Lowell Observatory, Winslow, Meteor Crater, The Grand Canyon, and The Painted Desert.

The painted desert, I would imagine, is a whole world of possibilities when it comes to hiking. But I didn't do any hiking. I stopped at the visitor center to learn a bit about it. It is officially known as a badlands which is kind of cool. Then I drove a recommended road that had various places to stop as a vista and photo point. I got some good pictures.

And, thinking about it, the painted desert sure is a lot like the badlands In South Dakota.

The Painted Desert in Arizona is part of a network of amazing places you can visit on a twenty five mile drive. The forest itself is a national park. The drive is within the national park.
