Thoughts on life while gardening. Return to my main site - or the Search for the meaning of life site |
The garden has just been bursting with life of all kinds and it has brought me to a dilemma. Should I weed or not? I am torn by this dilemma. A part of me says that I should welcome all the weeds and appreciate them for what they are. This same part of me says that I have no right to deny them their life and existence. Why do I have the urge to hammer the garden into what I want it to be? Don't we, as human beings do this with pretty much everything? We hammer the world to make it fit what we think it should be. A part of me says that this is a natural part of being human so it is ok. Yet a part of me denies the truth in this. Why do I have the urge to pluck all the weeds and make the garden into what I believe is better? Anyway, hidden in this lush little pocket of green are some wonderful suprises.
