I received this amazing telescope as a gift

I call in the battleship telescope because it is as strong and sturdy as a battleship! But it came with a label that gives it the name "Old Ironsides".

I got an email from a gentleman who had this telescope for decades. He couldn't use it anymore and he wanted to find a good home for it. He wanted somebody who would love it just like he did! And he found me!! And I do love it. My thanks and gratitude go to him for giving me this amazing gift!

It sure needs some work. But That's okay! I will do the work :) It's a ten inch mirror with a 71 inch focal length so it is an f7 mirror. In this next picture you can get a real sense for how big this mirror is by comparing it to the dollar bill! It's big, and it's heavy!
