Lourdes is a beautiful and sacred place. People make the pilgrimage there for religious reasons including the basilica, the healing water and the candlelit procession. But in Lourdes there is also a castle on the top of a hill.

And, I had to visit it. Let's take a look.

It is now a living museum and this is the front entrance. You can see a bit of the elevator that takes you up to the castle.

We are at the top now and you can see that it is still very much intact. It is a living museum and they have kept it pretty much intact. It has a prescribed route that you walk through so you can gain an understanding of how they lived here in the castle hundreds of years ago including entertainment.
