Astorga has several claims to fame including a magnificent building designed by Antonio Gaudi. And it also has a reputation as a chocolatier city that stretches back more than three centuries.

It is also directly on the Camino pilgrimage rout (The Way of Saint James). The pilgrimage passes right through the city and many pilgrims opt to spend a night here.

This is the Gaudi building.

The Cathedral of Saint Mary. It is a gothic cathedral and work for it began in 1471 and work continued on it right into the 18th century.
