The Colosseum
The Colosseum is understandably one of the great attractions in Rome. And, it is a challenge to get into it! You have to buy tickets ahead of time. And when I tried I only had a window of three days and it was all sold out. That varies. I was there in June and that might be part of their busy season. If you are planning a visit to Rome and want to visit the inside of the Colosseum you should check and buy tickets ahead of time. Here is the official website: |
Check the guided tours with a tour guide. They are very specific on the time but are more available. Picture shows people at the main entrance to the Colosseum.
Anyway, I didn't get in but I did very much enjoy walking around the outside of it.

Rome is a very high traffic tourist destination and you will have options to get into the Colosseum. There are various packages that will get you in sooner, but at a higher cost. So, you may need to be flexible. When I wrote this article I checked the ticketing website and the full tour, including underground cells was completely sold out for the next 30 days.
