The MFA in Boston (Museum of Fine Arts)

I took a day trip to Boston from where I live. I spent a day anda night in this wonderful city. And the centerpiece of my visit was the MFA. They were having a special exhibition of Van Gogh's works and it was well worth the trip.

The MFA is a world class museum and of course it has a whole lot of wonderful, amazing, and priceless stuff. I can't show you all of it; only a small percentage of it. And this selection goes by the stuff that interests me!

So, there are two things I have for you. First of course is the Van Gogh exhibit. And secondly they do have a pair of rooms that are devoted to the medieval period. Yay! So, we will look at that too.

Little Dancer Aged Fourteen (Degas 1878-1881)

Being a world class museum they have a wonderful array of art that crosses centuries and continents. Take a look at these two pages of their map.

For me this level had something of particular interest. It is the Italian Renaissance section in the upper right of the map.

And my overall pick for what I wanted to see was two rooms in the upper left of level 2. These rooms are part of the art of Europe section. These two rooms are devoted to the Medieval period and they are rooms 254 and 254a. I have some pictures for you.

Let's take a closer look at some of the artwork.
