There was a famous museum in Worcester Massachusetts called "The Higgins Armory" It specialized in Medieval era weapons and armor. And it closed down :( But, a lot of it's inventory went to the nearby Worcester Art Museum. And they are now having an exhibition of the pieces. So I traveled to Worcester to get a look. On this page you are currently I show you a bit about the museum. If you want to directly see the Arms and Armor exhibit you can click here |
Before we look at the Arms and Armor exhibition let's take a quick look at the museum itself. This is the main lobby.
And as part of the museum they actually imported a Chapter House from the Benedictine priory of Saint John Le Bas-ueil in France. It was built in 1150-1190 nd rebuilt here in Worcester between 1927 and 1946. This is remarkable and beautiful.
And they have this trio of Tiffany stained glass windows. The one on the right has part of it missing. This is due to the history of it. It was stolen at one point and when recovered it was found with the part missing.
Okay let's move on to the Exhibition of Medieval Arms and Armor
