Here are two pictures of the Carboy (glass container) that span two weeks. The first picture is the mead on the day we took it out of the fermentation bucket. The second picture is 16 days later. You can see that there is some clarification going on. There is also sediment in the bottom of the container. |
The Mead is starting to become mead. And this is one of the hardest parts of the process. It is the time where you don't do much except wait and let the yeast do it's thing. Hopefully in a few more weeks it will be ready to be bottled. I anticipate about 5 or 6 more weeks after the second picture was taken.
I have a stop Motion animation showing how the mead develops over the course of 90 days. I took a picture every day then created an animation with it. Here is the video
