This is part 3 of the tutorial on how to make a foam puppet for stop motion animation. In this part we finish off the dragon.

It's time to do some of the details of the dragon. Here I have added the jaw and the teeth. The teeth are just pieces of balsa wood.

Because I added the lower jaw I went ahead and applied the latex rubber to that in layers. Once all of this was done I went ahead and painted the dragon.

Now go ahead and paint the puppet. Any kind of acrylic paint should do well on the latex rubber. But, you may notice a little bit of flaking. Just paint it again to get any trouble spots.

And one more detail I added is marbles for the eyeballs. I just cut away some of the foam creating an eyesocket and squeezed the marbles right in.

Tatebanko Astronomer - Paper Diorama Stop Motion Animation - This is an interesting little project that uses all paper to make the animation inside a paper box. An astronomer looks through a telescope and sees a few interesting things. This shows that there are lots of techniques and materials that are great for animation.
