Growing Bonsai Under A Grow Light

I use a growlight for my bonsai trees and they are doing well. I have been using it for almost two years now and things are good.

Just like any other plant or tree the grow light can do a lot for your bonsai, particularly because you can carefully control the amount of light the plants get.

I use to keep my young and growing bonsai in the windowsill but because of where I live and the light situation I had to move the plants to another window on the other side of the house every afternoon. This was getting tedious. It's a labor of love but... I now love not having to do this. I got a growlight.

And here are some of the young bonsai under the growlight. I usually keep the light on between 8-10 hours a day.

Below is the exact grow light system that I bought. It is a system because it comes with the bulb and lamp and the metal structure to hold it all together. I love it. It's available on amazon.

Hydrofarm JSV2 2-Foot Jump Start T5 Grow Light System

The 2 ft wide Jump Start T5 Grow Light System is ideal for seedlings, cuttings, flowers and house plants. The super efficient T5 lights help you grow faster by providing 15-20% more lumens than traditional grow lights. It features a simple toggle clamp for easy lamp height adjustment, and the fixture has an internal reflective finish that directs more light to plants. Ideal for African Violets, orchids, flowering bulbs, vegetables, seedlings and cuttings. Super easy assembly.
