Types of Bonsai Tree seeds

With all of these seeds listed we have purchased them and planted them. They all have very different recommendations for germination and growth. But we have taken careful notes on the whole process. You can click through each page to see about that particular type of seed.

About starting from seed -

Every seed will have its own type of handling you should do. For all the seeds there are different recommendations for how to plant them. These mostly have to do with tricking the seed to believe it's following its natural course - falling to the ground in the fall rain (soak in water) keeping it in the refrigerator (to simulate winter) then sowing the seed at the beginning of spring in will draining soil at the appropriate depth.

Since we are impatient, experimental, and have the seeds through the cold winter we skipped some of the more elaborate instructions. All of the seeds were soaked in drinking water for 24 hours.

You can see our page here with the experiment on growing bonsai from seeds.
