I was doing some research and looking up interesting resources for corrugated cardboard and came up with a pretty mind blowing number. According to corrugated.org . "In 2017, the industry manufactured 386 billion square feet of material used to make boxes and displays".

So I tried a quick calculation to get a visual sense of that number and...

An online calculator tells me that is: 13,845.84481175 square miles.

And that turns out to be about the size of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut combined.

But another interesting way to look at this number is if we lay out all this cardboard in a one foot wide strip it would reach to the moon and back ... 150 times!

That's a whole lot of cardboard boxes :)
