This is a cardboard project that I made and you can take a look at it, maybe get some ideas from it. But I don't currently have a tutorial on how to make it. There are a few clever things that I did in the making of this project. And at the least I will cover some of these techniques in the future.

Here are some pictures to show you how I built it.

This shows the base of the merry go round. The five vanes around the circle are to support the base that will go on it. You can see two circular disks. They are the pulley system. The small one at the bottom is the one you turn and the large one will turn the merry go round.

This is the base of the whole carousel. That major circle is 16 inches in diameter.

We build up a structure.

And add some supports and spinning sections.

This picture shows how the horses go up and down. That circular track of cardboard is cereal box cardboard.
