Avocados are a fruit that grow on trees that are native to the Americas.

Production and shipping of Avocados are mostly from Mexico, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Peru and Indonesia.

While avocado is a bit of an exotic fruit it is also very available and pretty much in every supermarket. And I have to confess that up until I took these pictures I never actually tried one!

And I was quite surprised. Or should I say "Holy Guacamole!". This is a pleasant fruit. Now it doesn't have a whole lot of flavor but it does have a wonderful creamy texture. I enjoyed it! I scooped it out with a spoon.
