This is an interesting sword project. It is unique in a couple of different ways. First off it is a created sword. I didn't get this sword from history or from a video game. I got it from a story written by a web visitor. You can read that story here. It was part of a contest where I asked for creative suggestions from web visitors. Secondly I have a nice little foamboard technique where you cut it to form dragon scales. I really like it and you can see a close up picture of that technique down below. The template for this sword is right here

A unique thing about this sword is the dragonscales in the blood groove.
Materials and Tools for this project:
Print up the template and cut out the pieces.
Trace those pieces onto foamboard and then cut the pieces out.
The Blade of the sword is made up of two layers. And each layer has several pieces. Cut all those pieces out too. I will show you how to assemble them together. We do this because the sword is larger than a sheet of foam board.
Now let's put this sword together. This is how you do it. Lay out pieces one, two, three and four like this. Then glue right on top of those pieces A, B, C, D and E.
Next we made the handle assembly. Glue the pieces on as shown in the picture. Note that piece "2" is actually two pieces thick. And one of the piece "4" is out of place in the picture. It goes directly under the other piece 4. All of these pieces are in the template.
Optionally you can carve these pieces out of foam.
Okay Let's continue with the making of this sword
