You don't need any special paper. I just use a sheet of printer paper for this project.

I love this project. It is the second fold I learned many years ago and I still enjoy making it.

You do this fold with a sheet of printer paper. That's all you need. But, if you want to make it more attractive or you want to expand your origami skills you might want to consider getting origami paper.

Origami paper is thinner than printer paper. You will get easier, and better folds using it. And the colors and patterns are quite wonderful.

I love the space patterns on this paper. I haven't bought it but I will. I think it will make for some great looking folds. It is labeled as for kids and grownups and well, I am both!
