In this part of the project we begin the building of the paper castle. Note that there is a complete set of step by step instructions in the booklet. Here in this tutorial is additional material that will help.

Tip when cutting out the pieces. Don't start by cutting them all out at once. It will be easy to get them confused. Just cut the pieces out of the packet as you need them for assembly.
For the most part there are seven major sections to this castle. You fold each section and add it to the build.
The important thing about making this castle is to get off to a good start. If you get these three pieces right everything else goes together pretty easily. You fold into hexagonal tubes parts 1 and 2. They are towers 1 and 2. then glue them to part 4 like you see in the above picture. Don't forget to add the tops of the towers like this.
Then glue that assembly to the base sheet like this. You are off to a great start. You have laid the groundwork for your castle.
The assembly consists mostly of easy sub parts like this. You put together a tower.
Then you glue it in place.
The most challenging aspect of this castle is the staircase. take your time with it. It should look like this before you glue it in place. Follow the directions in the packet and in no time at all you will have your very own paper castle. You can use water paints to paint it! But don't be too wet with the paints, it may wrinkle the castle.
If you make this castle be sure to send me a picture!! I will post it to my website, give you credit and email you a certificate of contribution!! RESOURCES - Paper Castle Kits You can Buy Clever Paper Knight's Castle with Figures

Make this Medieval Castle by Usborne This was the first paper castle I ever made. It was given to me as a gift and I have been hooked ever since. Printed on stiff card, this book contains templates to cut out and construct a superb model of a 14th century castle crammed with authentic detail. The model includes miniature characters for re-creating castle life, including market stalls and jousting knights as well as a portcullis that lifts and falls. The base of the model measures 59 x 46cm.
