I traveled to Santa Fe New Mexico specifically to see the Miraculous stairway in the Loretto Chapel. But, little did I know that I would fall in love with the beautiful city that is Santa Fe. I visited a whole lot of beautiful places in this beautiful city.

Here is a map of America, so you can get a sense of the location. In this picture I have outlined the state of New Mexico.
And here is a closer look at the map showing New Mexico and you can see that Santa Fe is just a little northeast of Albuquerque. It is about an hour drive away.
Here are the places I visited in Santa fe
There is a feeling in Santa fe. It is hard to describe, but people feel it. And I heard it from several people that there might be lines of energy that meet at this particular place on the Earth. Maybe that explains why there is a certain kind of energy here. I don't know if this is true. But I definitely felt that there is something special about Santa fe. But.... I think that a better explanation for this energy and this feeling is that over the course of the past four hundred years it is place of devotion and worship and without a doubt millions of prayers have been said here. Here is a picture of the oldest chapel/church in America. It is the Church of San Miguel and it dates back to 1610. And another thought I had about Santa Fe; and this also should include much of New Mexico and even Arizona; is that in much of the world we build structures, homes, and buildings and then we place them on the land. But an interesting thing is that here in the midwest if feels more like the buildings spring up out of the Earth. They are more an integrated part of it. This is a picture of the back of San Miguel Church.
You can see that large structure at the end of the street. It is the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi.
The legacy of Georgia O'Keeffe is intertwined with the history of New Mexico. They have a museum devoted to her right in Santa Fe. I visited it. |
