Earn a Certificate of Completion!

Certificate

If you make this project email me a picture! I will email you a certificate of completion from stormthecastle.com You can print it up and hang it on the wall.

Sand the edges

Sand the edges of the "wood" handles. This will make them look more like wood. Just round those edges out a bit.

Apply Mod Podge

If you have mod podge go ahead and coat the whole knife. This will give it richness and lustre.

Paint the steel parts black

Let's paint all the steel parts black. This will add depth and strength to it.

And paint the other steel parts too. They are the finger ring and along the center line of the knife.

Paint the finger ring

Paint the steel edge

Paint the handle

Now let's paint the handle. And you can paint it any way you like, But if you want it to look like mine this is how you do it. Paint all the wooden handle an ochre color. You can do this by mixing yellow with a little bit of brown.

Add texture to the handle

Now loosely mix some black and some brown and dab it onto the handle.

Dab and smudge the paint

Then dab and smudge it with a moistened paper towel.

Paint all the steel silver

Now paint all the steel parts silver. This includes the blade, the finger ring and the center spine in the middle of the handle. If you don't have silver you can use a light gray.

Add the pins

Now use paint or a paint pen to put on the pins.

Seal it

If you have some kind of sealant go ahead and seal it! This will finish it off and give it a nice look!

That's It! Your Karambit is done!
