How to Make the Sword of Achilles (from the movie Troy) Part 2

This is part 2 of the tutorial on how to make the Sword of Achilles like in the movie Troy. In this part of the tutorial I show you the painting scheme. If you came directly to this page you can find the beginning of this tutorial right here: How to make the Sword of Achilles part 1

Here is a picture of the completed sword.

I use spray paints for this project and two different colors, black and gold. You can improvise and use any colors that you want. And if you don't have spray paint then go right ahead and use any kind of hobby paint that you have. Acrylics will be fine.

Notice that one of the paints is called Krylon H20. I love this spray paint it is very low odor and it works terrific on plastic and foam.

You should paint the blade first and this means you use masking tape to tape off the handle so the spray paint won't get all over it.

Paint the blade a solid layer of gold, be sure to do the other side and the sides of the blade. Once it dries use black spray paint to just add a little bit of detail to the blade.

Once the paint on the blade is dry you go ahead and tape off some of the blade and paint the handle black.

That's it. Once the paint is dry your sword is done and ready for battle with Hector!

I also have a tutorial on how to make the shield of achilles
