Will's Tips on Creativity Are you interested in the creative process and how a project like this comes about? I have a little bit about developing this project right here.

The Cardboard Catapult and the creative process

Let's Begin!

Cut the template parts

Print up the template and cut out the five pieces.

Each of these pieces is labeled with it's number and with how many of each you should make out of cardboard.

Trace onto cardboard

Place those pieces onto cardboard and trace them out.

The parts are all traced

And there you go. The pieces are traced.

Note about the orientation of the parts

When laying out and tracing the pieces you should vary them according to the direction of the corrugations in the cardboard. You can see two silhouettes of part #1. One part runs one way and the other one runs the other way. This varying the direction will make the catapult stronger.

Use a ruler to cut the parts

Go ahead and cut out all those pieces. Using a ruler like this is a good idea. It willl help you make very straight cuts.

NextOkay, we have made the pieces. Let's go ahead and build it. Continue
