In this part of the tutorial we add the various ornaments and details to the sword. |
Parts D are handle pieces so glue them right onto the handle of the sword, one on each side.
Next cut out the ornament templates F1 and F2.
And glue them onto cereal box cardboard so they form a continuous pattern.
And cut it out.
This is an optional step - You can use a sharp hobby knife to cut out all those details on the ornament. This will look best. But, if you don't want to do this step that is ok. You can just paint it later. It still will look great.
Now glue that ornament onto the sword. Test it first before you apply glue. There is a right way and a wrong way with this ornamental piece.
Now tape the handle. Apply turns of masking tape and apply about a two inch layer at the very end to make a pommel like area.
Ok! building the sword is complete.
