Make a curved elven shield part 3

In this part of the tutorial we finish the shield.

Part 1 (the beginning) of this tutorial is here.

Lets paint it. I am using spray paints. If you don't have spray paint you can use regular old acrylic brush on paints.

Start by painting the whole front of the shield gold. Don't have gold. Try a shade of yellow. Something that is goldish in appearance.

Then do a very light and scarce layer of green. This is just for accents to make it look slightly leaf like and move elven.

Now finish the painting of the shield by adding some detail work. Have fun with this. Do it as you like, do it as I did mine or do it the way they are done in the movies. The choice is yours. The predominant colors should be gold and green.

Now you can finish off the shield by tying a rope between the holes in the handles.

This is how you grasp the handle. You could make it more comfortable by wrapping tape around that section where my hand is. You could even wrap it with cloth and tape it.

Your shield is done! Congratulations!
