In this part of the tutorial we finish off the katar by painting it.

You can paint your Katar any way you like. I went for a pretty simple silver and gold scheme. Let's take a look at a few of the Katars that I saw in India. this might give you some ideas as to how you might want to paint yours.

I will paint the handle section gold so I masked off the sheath section. But on the sheath section I used a knife to cut out a nice Indian-like pattern so that will be gold too.

Painting it gold with Rustoleum gold spray paint.

Once the gold paint has dried I switched the painters tape around and painted the rest of it silver.

I don't show it in this tutorial but you might want to also paint the blade on the inside of the sheath. Anyhoo, congratulations! You are done. If you make this project be sure to send me a picture so I can put it on my website!
