In this part of the tutorial we add various details to the vambraces I show you two different ways to do it. |
First let's do the gauntlet using just hot glue. With it you can get a really good look. Draw two dots on each segment of the vambraces just like this. That is two dots both on this side and on the other side.
Now put a nice bead of hot glue on each one of those dots you drew. Once it's painted these will look just like rivets.
And at the widest part of the vambrace, that will be the part highest up on your arm, you can make a design with hot glue. Have some fun with this. It can be anything you want, even your name.
Now let's do the second variation of the vambraces. In this variation we use foam for the various details.
If you haven't done it already you can add the foam emblem to the widest part of the vambrace. I give you this shield pattern in the template but you can make up any shape that you want.
Now let's make the rivets. Using a hole punch make some dots out of the craft foam.
And glue them to the vambraces like this. This time we are not going along the sides of the vambrace like we did with the hot glue gun. This time we glue the series across each segment. Eight on each segment. The black dots on the picture show you where they will go. Do this on all three segments.
If you had sealed your vambraces with mod podge or white glue you can go ahead and also seal these pieces you added.
Now let's finish them off with paint. I will show you some nice variations.
Make a foam armor Knight's Helmet I continue in my series of tutorials on how to make armor out of foam. And now we make the helmet. And a neat thing about this helmet is that the visor goes up and down. Make a Foam Armor Knight's Helmet
