Now apply a coat of paper mache to the whole sword. When applying strips you overlap them by thirds. One third of a strip overlaps the previously laid strips. Once this layer is completely dry you can apply a total second coat of paper mache. Use a fan to help it all dry.
How to Make Paper Mache - This is a really simple thing to make. You mix two cups of water with two cups of flour. Then you stir in one tablespoon of salt. Continue to mix it until creamy. That's it!
Once all the paper mache is dry you can sand the sword smooth.
Now prime it with a white paint.
Let's Make the Eyeball
Ok, blow up a balloon to about a five inch diameter. And paper mache it. Do two coats of paper mache so it is nice and strong.
Coat the eyeball with something to make it stronger. This can be Mod Podge or white glue mixed 50/50 with water.
Paint the eyeball white. And if you want it to have a nice richness to it mix white paint 50/50 with Mod Podge.
Now find yourself a nice image of a pupil and Iris and print it up in color so it is about 2 1/2 inches in diameter. This is about right for our sized eyeball. You might want to adjust the size of yours depending on the size eyeball you made.
Turn the paper over and darken the pupil with a black marker. This is to keep it nice and black when you wet it.
Spray it with some kind of a clear sealant. This is an optional step but will make a difference in the eye. It makes it nice and shiny and a bit translucent.
Mod Podge Clear Acrylic Sealer The perfect final coat! Protect decoupage and craft projects with a dust-and-fingerprint resistant finish. All Mod Podge sealers can be used over waterbase and oil base paint, glaze, lacquer and varnish. Clear, waterproof and non-yellowing
Cut out the eye, put some slits in it like you see here and apply white glue or mod podge to the back of it so you can attach it to the actual eyeball.
Wow it looks great!
Paint some veins on the eyeball.
Ok, seal the eyeball with a high gloss finish and you are done with it.
Okay, Let's continue making the sword
Make the Skyrim Orcish Dagger The orcish dagger is a fun and easy project that comes out great. I use some different techniques than usual. No foam board in this one! Of course I give you the template and show you some great painting techniques to make it look real. Make the Skyrim Orcish Dagger
