This is a tutorial on how to make the Club of Hercules.

The traditional image of Hercules is that he carries an olive club and wears a Lion's skin. And in the Movie with Dwayne Johnson this is what he does! This club is just like the one in the movie and you can make it with just a few basic suppliesl

Materials Needed:

• Some kind of tube that is about 36 inches long (Can be cardboard, or even a wooden dowel that is about 1 1/2 inches thick)
• Plenty of newspaper
• 1 sheet of foamboard
• Brown paint or any color you want to paint your club
• Lots of masking tape
• Optionally you can paper mache this project but be sure you have a very strong cardboard tube or use a wooden dowel. otherwise the weight of the club may bend your tube

Here are some of the tube options you have. For this tutorial we use the cardboard tube that was at the center of the christmas wrapping paper.

If you are using a cardboard tube stuff it tight with crumpled newspaper. This will make it stronger.

Wrap the tube with masking tape. Do a couple of layers. This will increase the strength.

Mark the one third point on your dowel or tube.

Lay the dowel out on a piece of foamboard and draw the club shape around it like this. It goes from the 1/3 mark you made to a little bit past the end.

Cut out that club and use it to trace a second one.
