da Vinci was born in 1452. And at the age of 15 he was taken into an apprenticeship wih a famous Florentine sculptor named Andrea del Verrochio.

Verrochio's workshop put out a variety of works including this painting entitled Tobias and the Angel.

It is broadly accepted by Art Historians that Leonardo participated in this work and that the fish and the dog are by his hand.

This makes this work the first reasonably accepted work by daVinci.

This painting is credited between the years of 1468-70 which would make Leonardo between 16 and 18 years old.
