This is a tutorial that shows you how to make this easy and useful pencil holder that is in the shape of a castle keep. It has a typical pencil holder box for longer pencils and it also has an area around it where you can keep a variety of things including erasers, shorter pencils, paper clips etc. |
A big thing about this project and video is that I give you 7 useful tips for working with cardboard. So, even if you don't make the pencil holder you still will get something out of the video. I have a Youtube video right here on this page that shows you how to make this pencil holder. And I have the template with all three variations of the pencil holder. You print it up, cut out the pieces and glue them to your pencil holder. The three styles are Norman Keep, Troubadour castle and Gothic Cathedral.
This project is easy to make. And you end up with a unique looking project that is functional. And all you need is three pieces of cardboard. The picture above shows four pieces of cardboard and that's because it is the wrap around castle walls. You only need one piece of cardboard that is 24 inches long. But you can piece together two or more pieces to make this 24 inch length.
