How about a clever and creative way to use a box and a couple of toothpicks? Yup - make a dartboard. And we think of cardboard in a literal sideways manner.

This project is a clever use of corrugated cardboard. We can cut strips of cardboard and use the corrugations on the side as a way f or the darts to stick! And... And the darts we can also make out of cardboard. We just need toothpicks as the pointy part.
A normal dartboard is hung on a wall. We don't hang this one on a wall because the toothpicks would not hold well. We stand this dart board on a surface and at an angle. Materials and Tools:
You have a lot of flexibility in what size box you use for this project. A smaller box like the A3 is a good choice though. Bigger boxes mean a whole lot of cutting! Measure 1 1/2 up from the bottom of the box and draw a line this height all the way around. Then cut it. That bottom piece is our dartboard. The top part will be used to make the various parts that go in it.
Cut the two smaller flaps off the bottom of the dart board. Trim them to about 5 inches in length.
And glue them to the sides of the dartboard so they become legs. This holds the dartboard up at an angle.
From this point we are going to be cutting lots of strips of cardboard that are all one inch in diameter but of varying lengths.
Let's start by making the bullseye of the dartboard. Cut a one inch wide strip that is twelve inches long. Fillet it by cutting even strips through the top layer of paper. This will allow us to roll it into a bullseye shape.
Roll that strip with the fillet cuts on the inside and tape it. You now have the bullseye.
Glue it into the center of the dartboard.
Add another circle around the bullseye. This circle is 3 ½ inches in diameter. Then add some vanes like you see here.
Cut strips of cardboard and fill in the whole dartboard. Fit them in nice and snug so they will hold the darts well. If you pack them in snugly you will not need to glue them.
The final thing is to make the darts! Here is a picture of a completed dart and a template so you can make your own darts.
