In this part of the dungeon making tutorial I show you how to make the interchangeable walls. Having walls like this are a great idea because you can arrange your dungeon in any number of unlimited configurations. I also have a youtube video for this project. You can watch it at the bottom of the page.

The walls and various accessories are easy to make using the same foam that we used to make the dungeon floor. We add some foamboard the make the walls more durable and so they stay upright and in place. In this tutorial I will show you how to make the walls, and show you a few different types to make. I will also show you several different texturing techniques to make your dungeon look unique. Make lots of wall units in a variety of lengths. Lean toward making more of the shorter units. They are more useful and they can always be placed beside each other to make longer walls. If you make yourself a nice assortment of walls you will have an infinite number of dungeons you can layout. Here is what I made for my dungeon:
The grid squares on our dungeon table top are 1.5 inches square. So make your dungeon walls in increments of this size. The next picture shows walls that are 2 grid squares, 3 grid squares, and 4 grid squares in length.
Materials and Tools:
Here's a quick look at an unpainted wall unit. We pretty much keep a standard height of 2.5 inches for the walls. You can vary this a bit if you want some height variety in your dungeon. But too short doesn't look so good and too tall makes it difficult to reach in there and move the figures around.
Okay , enough of the introductory stuff. Let's continue and get to work. You can also watch the video below. The youtube tutorial video is here:
