This is a tutorial on how to make a nice looking polymer clay necklace. It is the dragonbone sword from skyrim. Fun, fast and easy little project and a perfect gift for Valentine's Day.

Materials Used:

• Sculpey - Or some type of polymer clay such is Primo
• Black Paint, Silver Paint
• Cord or chain
• A piece of wire (for the armature, it goes inside for strength)
• An oven or toaster oven for baking the clay
• Mod Podge or some kind of sealant (Optional but nice)
• A sharp knife (X-acto knife is best for this)

Let's Get Started!

Print up the template and cut out the sword. Flip it over and draw the lines with pencil. You want to get plenty of graphite on the drawing.

Cut yourself a piece of wire longer than the sword and bend one end into a ring shape.

Break off a piece of the polymer clay and knead it until soft.

Use a round object like a marker as a rolling pin and roll out the clay flat like this. Make it roughly 1/4 inch thick.

Embed your wire armature into the clay.

Roll out another thin piece of clay and cover the armature with it. Now the armature is embedded into the center of the clay.

Now lay your template down onto the clay. With the graphite side down. And gently rub it. This will transfer the graphite to the clay.

Make sure you line it up with the wire armature so it is right down the middle and the pommel hole in the template lines up right over the hole in the wire armature.

Now you can remove the template and the pattern is transferred to the clay. Kind of cool :)
