How to make a quick and easy viking helmet

This is a tutorial on how to make a quick and easy viking helmet out of duct tape. You don't need much for supplies to make it.

The Viking Helmet

Ring of cardboard

Cut a strip of cardboard that is two inches wide and shape it into a ring that can comfortably fit around your head like a head band.

Add more pieces

Then cut two more strips of cardboard that are two inches wide and attach them to that headband so they form a x across the top like this. Now you have a bowl that will fit on your head.

Tape it

And notice how one of those strips is longer. This forms the nose piece.

And if you have duct tape now wrap the whole helmet with it.

If you don't have duct tape you can use silver paint.

Cut out the horns

Next draw out a pair of horns. Then cut them out.

Glue horns to helmet

And glue those horns to the sides of the helmet. I recommend you cut away some of the duct tape so the glued horn will stick to the cardboard underneath. This will hold better.

Add hot glue rivets

Add some rivets. I used hot glue. You can also cut out pieces of foam or other material and glue them on if you don't have a glue gun.

Paint the horns

Paint the horns black at the base and the horns themselves white.

Detail the horns

Add some brown to the horns to make them look like horn.

Paint the rivets

Finish off the helmet by painting the rivets.

And that's it! Your Viking Helmet is complete.

Viking Shield

Make a Viking Shield

You can make this with foamboard or cardboard. Either way it comes out graet and is double layered for strength.

Made just like they made the real shields.
