Part 3: How to design and make a paper castle, cathedral, or church, based on a real one.

Now we finish up our paper castle or cathedral project by working on the details.

Work on these details and refine them, only lightly gluing them in place so you can remove and modify them until they are right.

Once you get each detail right be sure to make a clean copy on paper.

And here is an easy tip when it comes to making smaller structures. You can glue together layers of paper to make thicker structures. Here are some of the buttressess I made forr my Leon Cathedral. You can see on some of them the dashed lines. I fold over on that dashed line and glue it. Now my buttresses are twice as thick.

Now you have all your parts, Go ahead and color them. And add any details like windows.

Here you can see some windows I have drawn in.

So, you have figured out your castle or cathedral and you have all the parts now on clean paper, and you have colored and detailed everything. It took a lot of work but now you can reap the rewards and put the whole thing together!

You will notice that in some of these pictures there are numbers and arrows. I pulled these pictures from my assembly procedure for Leon Cathedral. More below the pictures...

If you want to make this cathedral I have a complete packet that you can download, print up and put together. It comes with all the parts and full step by step instructions. And..,. it has two versions, a colored version and a plain white version so you can color it your own way if you want. It is available on my Patreon page for five dollars here
