In this part of the tutorial I show you another way to cut out the pieces of glass. |
Here is what to do if your glass is opaque and difficult to see through. You trace out the various glass pieces.
And cut out the pieces.
Then use some kind of light adhesive on the back of the template piece.
And apply the template piece to your opaque glass.
Now you can use those template pieces as a guide for cutting the glass to the correct shapes.
Ok! All the glass is cut and it looks good. Notice how the clear glass is without paper. All the pieces with paper are the opaque pieces. We still need to measure and cut for the gems that are going in the guard.
Place the gems on the glass in the desired positions and trace around them.
And cut the glass around the gems. Notice how I made extra cuts. It is difficult to just cut such a small circle in the glass so I cut each end of the guard into three pieces. Ok, everything is cut. We are ready to do something called copper foiling all the glass.
