When you are doing a stained glass project that uses lead came you can be challenged by having small gaps in the lead came. You can see a gap here in my stained glass knight. How should you handle this. |
First off, unless you are an experienced stained glass maker, this is going to be normal. And it is particular accentuated when the window you are making has a lot of irregular or complex shapes. You could try to just bridge the gap with solder. But, that's not optimal. It has an effect on how it looks, how strong it is, and how waterproof it is. The solution is pretty easy. Cut two small pieces of lead came and insert them into the gap. One piece goes on this side of the window. And one piece goes on the other side of the window.
