Here is how we actually start making our window.

I have taped down the template. And on two sides of it I have screwed down two lengths of wood.

We will build the window within this area.

Let me just point out a few things here.

The cardboard box has a bunch of pieces of stained glass in it.

But on the template we see a few things. First are the long straight lengths of metal.
These are called Zinc came. They will go all the way around the window. And they are for structural strength.

The curled piece of metal shaped like a spiral is lead came. That is the flexible and pliable material that will hold all the pieces of glass together. On the template is all the half inch lines. That is all the lead came.

So, we have created a jig and now we are ready to start cutting pieces and placing them right on the template.
