In this part of the tutorial we continue with the build by gluing the blades together and cutting the guard and the pommel. Part 1 ( the beginning) of this tutorial is here

Now glue those three sword pieces together, one right on top of the other so they form a stack of three. Put the piece without the fuller in the middle of the stack. To do this I used a hot glue gun. You can use any glue available to you.
If you have sandpaper you should sand the edges smooth. Because it is a stack of three glued together there will be some mismatching of layers. Sanding will correct this.
Now let's make the guard and the pommel. This is how you do it. Let's start with the guard. Place the template sheet for it on foam board and with a blunted pencil draw over all the lines and the designs, pressing down firmly. This transfers the pattern from the template to the foam board.
Now you can remove the template and see the impressions in the foam board. Draw them all out. Do this twice, making two guard pieces. Be sure to shade in the areas where they are shaded in the template. This will make it easier to cut the pattern in the next step.
Now let's do the ornamental work. Cut the top layer of paper for all those darkened sections. then you can pluck the paper right out. Once you have done all this ornamental work you can cut the guards out of the foamboard sheet.
You end up with two of these. Looks good!
Now follow the same process with the pommel. YOu only need to make one. And notice the dashed lines on it. Those are cuts you make only through the top layer of paper.
